An asymmetrical dress

I was a complete tom boy back in school. Studying in a convent school, I was surrounded by girls who would scream when they would see a cockroach and jump when they would see a 'so called' hot guy. I, on the other hand was never expressive and had no reaction at on such things at all. I was not inspired by the color pink, I would hate taking care of my skin, hate wearing heels and dressing up for school parties. Luckily, My friends were just like me and thanks to them, I survived my school days and have the best memories.
Getting pictures clicked in my first summer dress made me look back at the time I would detest wearing a summer dress and now I own at least five of them. Back then, my sweat shirt, t-shirt, jeans and sneakers were my best friends. Its true that people change over time but it is hard to believe that I changed.

Little floral

What I like about this dress is that it is smart, casual with a touch of girlishness in it. This dress balances the boyish hoodie and the floral belt so well it automatically becomes my first choice for a summer holiday getaway.

P.S: I got my nose pierced few months back. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the never ending boils. They seem to become a part of my nose more than my nose stud*sighs*
Dress: Esprit
Ring: Dubai flea market
Bag: Zara

Summer hair series- #1 Scrunch Scrunch

Welcome to my summer hair series.
Summer is all about floral print, pastel shades, Maxi's and bright colors. Don't you think it is necessary to have a perfect hairdo to match your every style. Moreover, we all need change, don't we*winks*.

I will be posting about various summer hairdo's for the next two months. Hope you enjoy it.

#1 Scrunch look.
I love the scrunch look because it is super easy and adds volume to your hair making it look sexy and elegant at the same time. It gives your hair well defined curls/waves which easily catches attention and it kinda gives your hair a wet look too.

Wear this look with a maxi, a pair of wedges, simple accessories and you are good to go on a date, formal event, lunch with girlfriends etc.

To get this scrunch look, all you have to do is
Step 1:  Consult your hair stylist for a perfect beach spray/ curling spray that will suit your hair. I am using 'Marc Anthony'  beach spray for quite sometime now and I am perfectly happy with it. Because my hair is super straight, this product has worked well in giving my hair the perfect scrunch.

Step 2: Spray the product on your ends. Spray till the time you get a wet feeling on the ends of your hair. Avoid spraying on your scalp as it may/can cause skin problems or dandruff

Step 3: Start twisting and rolling your hair with your hands.

Step 4: Roll your hair upwards and continue scrunching. At this stage, you can also make a messy bun or tie your hair with a clip depending on how messy/wavy you want them to be.

So, we are done with one type of summer hairdo. Wasn't it easy and fun?
Hope you wear this look soon and if you do, don't  forget to send me a photograph or you can leave a comment saying that you have tried this look. Stay tuned for more looks.

P.S: Wear the scrunch look a day after you have washed you hair as the natural oils of your scalp will help in molding your hair better.

All is White

I am posting after almost three weeks. I had been away because of my university exams which went better than expected *phew*
I am back now and I hope to be more regular.
My exams got over last Saturday and since then I have been busy doing nothing.
This is the list of what I will be seen doing this summer. Hopefully, this will help you to know me better too.

1. Working out. Let me tell you that I am not a diet person. I used to be a size 16 and I have managed to become a size 10 without following a diet*wohoo*.  I follow light weight training, cardio and floor exercises.

2. Investing in summer dresses. You will never see me dressed up all girly. I like being in jeans and blazers and straight cut short dresses and heels. This summer, I feel different. Flowy dresses are most welcome;)

3. Grow my hair more long. I am planning to grow my hair till my waist. I had waist length hair back in school when I was in 5th grade.

4. Job hunting. I am a freelance writer. But I am looking for a permanent job. If you have any, Do let me know*winks*

5. Looking for statement jewellery. Lately I am on a jewellery buying spree. I spend hours browsing through websites in order to find something eye catchy.

6. Get back to reading. I am that kind of a reader who selects an author and reads all the book by that particular author and then moves on to the next.

7. Trying out new brands/stores for jeans. I am a Guess jeans loyalist. I think its time to change to other options. Hope they don't let me down,

This is all I could think of right now. Similarly, I will continue posting about myself in the future. If you want to know anything specific, you can always shoot me an email at akanksharohra@gmail.com

ALERT: This summer you are going to see me in white. The color white defines my summer.

I am wearing Mac's Ramblas Red
